اتبع المؤلف في هذا الكتاب منهجاً واضحاً، فجعله في قسمين: قسم خاص بباب الضاد، رتبه على حروف الهجاء، و قسم خاص بباب الظاء، رتبه على حروف الهجاء أيضاً. و ذكر قسماً من الألفاظ في غير جذورها، لأنه نظر الى الحرف الأول منها، فجاءت الألفاظ: تضرع، وتضوع، و تعوض، و تقبض، و تضرج في باب التاء، و هكذا. و استشهد المؤلف بالقرآن الكريم في أربعة مواضع، و بالحديث الشريف في ثلاثة مواضع، و بالأمثال و الأقوال في ثلاثة مواضع، و الى المعاني المشتركة للفظ الواحد في مواضع كثيرة. و يعد الكتاب أول أثر ينشر لأبي بكر الشيباني الموصليShow book
