Sinopse

'Cause when you win, we all win. So you have to keep "winning". Even if you feel like you're losing losing yourself'
Ade is a successful writer, or so it seems. She has everything she ever wanted: her career is flying, she's (kinda) moved out of her mum's house, and her situationship isn't as complicated as she expected. Her life should be perfect! But things don't always go to plan, as Ade is about to find out…
failure project is a warm and witty one-person play exploring grief, the strings attached to success, and what it means to 'fail'.
Written and performed by Yolanda Mercy, it premiered at Summerhall as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024, co-directed with Joseph Barnes-Phillips.
Disponível desde: 15/08/2024.

In this poetry collection 'Ways to Say Goodbye'. Anne Kellas takes the listener through dream sequences, abstract and imagistic poems and deeply personal poems of loss. The effect is a cumulative building of a quiet world of reflective resilience as the poet tries out possible ways to do what is almost impossible – to love and to say goodbye."These poems, their accounts of the ways art, chance talk, angels, birds, memories and music can come at us with terrible and tender truths, are gifts that teach us how ‘to read the mind of clouds’." (Kevin Brophy)

The Damon Runyon Theatre Hour. Damon Runyon is acknowledged as one of the great writers to come out of twentieth century America. Runyon's short stories are almost always told in the first person by a narrator who is never named, and whose role is unclear; he knows many gangsters and has no job that can be gleaned from his musings, nor does he admit to any criminal involvement; He’s a bystander, an observer, an average street-corner Joe. Runyon described himself as "being known to one and all as a guy who is just around". That line seems to say a lot about Runyon and his life. It was like you were with him on some street corner hustle or some shady dive and he was filling you in on all the angles, all the gossip, all of life. He was who so many people wanted to be with……or so many people wanted to be. Of course, the cliché about newspapermen and writers is that they are heavy drinkers, chain-smokers, gamblers and obsessively chase women with a sideline in the gathering of stories and facts and actually getting something written just before the deadline hits. That seems like Damon Runyon and his life summed up in one sentence. His stories became legendary ways of looking that bit differently at America, of soaking up the atmosphere of a glamorous and rip-roaring age and distilling it into black and white type or, in our case, The Damon Runyon Theatre Hour.

From a teenage encounter with Elizabeth I, through infatuations, voyages and even a change of gender, Orlando lives out five centuries of life and love before they finally find the courage to truly be themselves.
Neil Bartlett's sparkling adaptation of Virginia Woolf's famous fantasy finds powerful contemporary relevance in her vision of equal rights to love for bodies of every kind – and brings it to life on the stage with a kaleidoscope of theatrical styles, overseen by the haunting figure of Woolf herself.
It premiered at the Garrick Theatre in London's West End in November 2022, in a production directed by Michael Grandage and starring Emma Corrin in the title role. Written for a diverse ensemble of nine or more actors, this adaptation will appeal to any theatre or company looking to entertain their audiences with a bold new take on this iconic tale of love and transformation.

'People don't like it when things come easier to you. They don't like being around someone who makes them feel stupid. They don't like… me.'
On a reality television show, six remarkable – and remarkably young – geniuses are competing for the coveted Golden Brain trophy and the title 'Britain's Brainiest Child'. As the contestants battle it out round after round, the pressure mounts, the spotlight gets harsher, and each is faced with questions they were never expecting. Who will win and who will lose – and what exactly does winning mean anyway?
Georgia Christou's Bright. Young. Things. is a funny, fast-paced play about identity, truth and the challenge of finding out who you really are. It is part of Platform, an initiative from Tonic Theatre in partnership with Nick Hern Books. Aimed at achieving greater gender equality in theatre, Platform comprises big-cast plays with predominantly, or all, female casts, written specifically for performance by young actors.
