For listeners who enjoyed Finding the Mother Tree and The Hidden Life of Trees comes the first-ever book about a movement to restore biodiversity in our cities and towns by transforming empty lots, backyards, and degraded land into mini-forests. Author Hannah Lewis is the forest maker turning asphalt into ecosystems to save the planet, and she wants everyone to know they can do it too. In Mini-Forest Revolution, Lewis presents the Miyawaki Method, a unique approach to reforestation devised by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. She explains how tiny forests as small as six parking spaces grow quickly and are much more biodiverse than those planted by conventional methods. She explores the science behind why mini-forests work, as well as the myriad environmental benefits, including cooling urban heat islands, establishing wildlife corridors, building soil health, sequestering carbon, creating pollinator habitats, and more. Today, the Miyawaki Method is witnessing a worldwide surge in popularity. Lewis shares the stories of mini-forests that have sprung up across the globe and the people who are planting them?from a young forest along the concrete alley of the Beirut River in Lebanon, to a backyard forest planted by tiny-forest champion Shubhendu Sharma in India. This inspiring book offers a revolutionary approach to planting trees and a truly accessible solution to the climate crisis that can be implemented by communities, classrooms, cities, clubs, and families everywhere.

Includes an audiobook exclusive interview of Cody Alan with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles!
    Read by the author.
We live in a world of noise where everyone is so quick to speak. When we slow down and give someone our full attention, we offer them a safe place to be fully heard and accepted.
Hear’s the Thing is a story about what is possible when someone is brave enough to listen to others… and, ultimately, themselves without judgement.
For Cody Alan, one of country music’s most famous on-air radio and TV personalities, listening to other people has always been a crucial part of his role. It was by fostering his ability to hear others that he discovered the person he most needed to listen to was himself. Listening ultimately led him on a journey of self-discovery where he found the courage to come out as gay, the openness to question spiritually, and the strength to explore a new definition of parenting and family.
In his debut memoir, Hear’s the Thing, Cody shares some of the many lessons he’s learned along the way such as:How to actively listen with empathy and without judgmentWhy a willingness to “let people in” better equips you to receive from othersHow genuine attentiveness can help you build healthier and deeper relationships
The art of listening is often lost but Cody’s story will inspire you to hear that inner voice that is leading you to a deeper connection with yourself and the people around you.

Orson Welles was an actor, director, writer and producer who worked in theatre, radio, TV and film. His film Citizen Kane (1941) is ranked as one of the greatest movies ever made. In 1937, Orson Welles and John Houseman founded the Mercury Theatre, an independent repertory theatre company that presented a series of productions (including Julius Caesar) on Broadway through 1941. To help earn money to stage his productions, Welles moonlighted as a radio actor. In 1937, at age 22, he clouded men’s minds as radio’s first Lamont Cranston, alias The Shadow. In his own radio series, The Mercury Theatre on the Air, Welles dramatized the H.G. Wells science-fiction classic The War of the Worlds and caused widespread panic when listeners thought that Earth was being invaded by Martians. This broadcast earned Orson Welles great notoriety and a film contract with RKO. He followed up Citizen Kane with 12 other feature films, the most acclaimed being The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), Touch of Evil (1958) and Chimes of Midnight (1966). Even though Welles stayed quite busy acting and producing films, he found time to appear in many radio shows during the 1940s and 1950s. We’ve carefully selected 12 of his finest radio performances for this collection and we hope that you will enjoy them!
