Summary

Mary Gregory and Sir Justin Beaufort hate each other because they are victims of shotgun marriage and as Road agents, Gentleman John and Silver Buckles love each other truly in spite of their engagement to another who happens to be the other one although they don't know Mary thinks he's stark raving mad. Jack thinks she is not the woman he loves he knows she hates him too. Their love will be their deaths. It is a tale of love on the highways of old.
