On the hunt for an unimaginary, Skeleton Keys meets young Flynn Twist, a boy with a wild imagination who tells of his encounter with a terrifying shadow calling itself the Nobody.
Skeleton Keys suspects it could be a shapeless unimaginary searching for a physical form. Can he become the brave hero of his imagination and free everybody from the Nobody?

Pemberton is a yellow, fuzzy Labrador Retriever-and he wants nothing more than to meet this "forever family" he's been hearing about! As a puppy, Pemberton is taken from his mother and brought to a puppy mill, where he desperately misses the comfort of being loved and cared for. When he's rescued by local shelter workers, he finds himself in a foster home for other dogs like him. While the older labs, Gus and Churchill, help Pemberton come out of his shell, he still longs to find a home where he truly belongs. One day, a family with a shy little boy comes to visit the foster home, and Pemberton thinks this just might be the "forever family" he's heard about . . . Heartwarming, emotional, and uplifting, this early reader's chapter book is sure to delight young puppy-lovers and speak to the need to belong in all of us.

“With pleasing design and a multiplicity of details to discover, this variation on the game of ‘I Spy’ is sure to please the youngest.” —Kirkus Reviews

“As a bus progresses on its route to the garage, where it will park for the night, various travelers—actors, commuters, families—hop off at their stops. When a number of riders is named (for example, 10 baseball players disembark and head for a playing field), readers can count along, but more often, the text suggests different objects to pick out from each spread. Gomi’s pictures are beautifully composed [and] will appeal to children for their simplicity, and to adults for their strong graphics.” —Publishers Weekly

The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. is held annually in remembrance of the first cherry tree planting on March 27, 1912. Now an international symbol of peace and friendship, the trees first came to the nation’s capital from Tokyo, Japan, at the insistence of Eliza Scidmore. Able to live a life different from most women in the late 1800s, Scidmore was dedicated to her ideas. She had the opportunity to travel with family and friends and wrote the first guidebook about Alaska while there on a trip. Wanting to share her adventures with others, she became the first woman to write for the National Geographic Society. But throughout her travels, she never forgot about the Japanese cherry trees she had seen while visiting her brother in Tokyo. It took her more than twenty years, but with the help of the president’s wife, Mrs. Taft; a Japanese scientist; and a lot of faith, Scidmore’s dream of beautifying her hometown came true.
