Synopsis

An old man walks wearily along a long mountain footpath, carrying the journal of an officer he once knew. Pechorin was young, brave and loyal. In his journal he wrote down all of his adventures, involving thievery, smugglers, rivals and love. But when the two friends meet again, Pechorin has changed. He is cold and distant.
What happened to Pechorin in the year that has passed, and will he ever find happiness again?
