Summary

Mathew Manning combines a good deal of practical information and enjoyable, anecdotal text to give the reader a pleasurable insight into the world of air rifle hunting. In Hunting with Air Rifles, Mathew Manning has compiled a step-by-step guide on everything a novice or an expert air-gun user needs to know when hunting and culling wildlife. Hunting with Air Rifles is a complete guide to the basi of using an air rifle - covering all elements of the sport from the nitty gritty (though not frighteningly technical) workings of the air rifle to how to choose the right gun, using sights, ammunition, accessories, clothing, camouflage, setting up, shooting techniques/stances, the law and acquiring permission to shoot and how to avoid the pit-falls of expensive or dangerous equipment. Manning deals with quarry recognition and the relationship between the hunter, his/her quarry and the countryside. Hunting techniques for various species are included from stalking to hide building, decoying, baiting, lamping and use of calls. Air rifle hunting is one of the most humane ways of sourcing meat and animal welfare and organic standards can't get much higher and food miles are minimal. The photographs are straight forward and support the text and readers will find clear instructions on converting shot quarry into meat for the table along with a series of simple and delicious recipes. This book is essential reading for novice and for expert air-gunners.

From the doorstep of Dublin city, there is easy access to a cycling haven of deep glens, forested mountains and wild scenery, including the Wicklow Mountains.
This guidebook journeys through some of the country's best-known tourist attractions, such as Glendalough, and reveals lesser-known points of interest like the Shay Elliott memorial to the first Irish rider to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France.
The graded routes suit all abilities, and are illustrated with colour maps, photos and gradient graphs, with information on the many natural landmarks and historical sites en route. The historic Military Road is central to many of the cycles. Constructed in the aftermath of the 1798 Rebellion, it runs from Rathfarnham in south Dublin to Aughavannagh in south-west Wicklow, with a side arm from Enniskerry to Glencree, and from the Sally Gap to Roundwood. Try your hand as a Tour de France competitor, revisiting the 1998 stage, which raced through the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, finishing in the Phoenix Park.
Surprising insights and useful tips are shared throughout, allowing cyclists to enjoy the wonders and challenges of south Dublin and Wicklow.

This is it. A guided missile leaves the hand of Jofra Archer and arrows towards you at 90mph. You must score two runs to win the World Cup. You miscue it and England triumph instead, a ground-breaking moment that captivates a global audience. Except you're not playing to 700 million people, you're actually at home, immersed in virtual reality. Technology is transforming sport, personalising fan experiences, and transforming sport's economics. Technology is also radically altering sporting performance, sharpening preparation, training and skills, and reinventing team tactics, as analysts drill down into the data revealing exactly where Jasprit Bumrah is going to bowl or where Jos Buttler is going to hit his next boundary. Technology's transformative impact has revolutionized the sports business, with a resulting increase in broadcast and digital media rights, enabling players like Virat Kohli or Ben Stokes to earn $2m for six weeks work. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been at the centre of cricket's reinvention. It has catapulted cricket into the global mainstream, spawning numerous imitators. It is one of only two professional sports leagues in the world, where all franchises are profitable. After only 12 years since launch: the IPL is valued at $6.3bn; accounts for over 30% of global cricket revenues; and over 60% of Indian sports revenues. What lessons can be learnt from its design and the rapid growth of its media rights? How it secures, develops and manages the world's best players? And how the IPL has dealt with governance, ownership and gambling challenges? But now cricket, along with all sports, has been rocked by coronavirus, with IPL season 13 postponed, and the English season decimated. How can the IPL inform cricket's evolution in a post Covid world? What are the imperatives for cricket's 'New Innings'?
Award-winning cricket writer and broadcaster Simon Hughes - The Analyst - and technology entrepreneur Manoj Badale, lead owner of the Rajasthan Royals, one of the IPL's most forward-thinking franchises, dissect the global business of sport. They offer unique insights into the IPL's drivers and innovations and, with unprecedented access into dressing rooms and boardrooms, reveal lessons for the business of sport. An essential read for all those with a passion for cricket and an interest in the business of sport, this book is as innovative and ambitious as a Steve Smith century.

In the 1970s, a decade before bumper stickers and T-shirts bearing the phrase Eddie Would Go began popping up all over the Hawaiian islands and throughout the surfing world, Eddie Aikau was proving what it meant to be a "waterman." As a fearless and gifted surfer, he rode the biggest waves in the world; as the first and most famous Waimea Bay lifeguard on the North Shore, he saved hundreds of lives from its treacherous waters; and as a proud Hawaiian, he sacrificed his life to save the crew aboard the voyaging canoe Hokule'a.

A Life-Changing Book About the Power of FEARLESS Thinking

You will never achieve any important goal until you first defeat the fears that stand between you and that goal—the fears that say it's too risky, you don't deserve it, or you're not good enough.

In fact, fearful thinking is one of the most destructive thought patterns you can fall into. Whenever you find yourself worrying, procrastinating, or questioning your potential—FEAR is getting the best of you.

In this inspirational fable, Mickey McGavin is a pro boxer struggling to overcome the fears that are holding him back—in the ring and in life. With the help of a former world champion who becomes his trainer and mentor, McGavin learns he must defeat the fears in his mind before he can defeat his opponents in the ring.

Boxing is the metaphor for life in this story, but the techniques used for defeating fear are universal.

No matter your goal, FEAR is your ultimate opponent, and this book will show you how to defeat the fears that hold you back from living the life you were born to live.

Listen to this life-changing book and discover why victory—in sports, in business, and in life—always favors the fearless.
