Summary

This is a unique selection of wide-ranging experiences of British and Commonwealth Bomber Command aircrew during World War II. Their endearing bravery and fortitude and sometimes their despondency and cynicism, shows through in these stirring, daring, often irreverent, humorous and sometimes sardonic but memorable stories. All reflect the ethos, camaraderie, fear and bravery of the largely ordinary men, most of whom were plucked from civvy street and thrust into a frightening, bitter conflict which was made even more dangerous by the lethal advance of technology.Death would normally come from an anonymous assassin, either in the black of night, or from behind a cloud or out of the sun, or simply from the Flak gunner on the ground. And, if all this was not enough, the often unmerciful weather was no respecter of mortality. There was no escaping the all-embracing shock wave that rippled through the bomber squadrons after a heavy mauling over enemy territory. Nothing could be more poignant than the vacuous places at tables in the depleted mess halls, the empty locker of the departed, or the dog pining by the barracks for its missing master. Each man had to deal with tragedy in his own inimitable way. Some hid their feelings better than others did only for the pain to resurface months or even years later. Some who had survived the physical pressures and who completed their tours then succumbed to the mental torture that had eaten away at their psyche during the incessant and interminable onslaught day after day, night after night. There was little respite. The valorous men of Bomber Command were, in turn, the Light Brigade, the stop gap, the riposte, the avengers, the undefeated. Always, they were expendable.

Hastings Rashdall (1858–1924) was not only one of the leading churchmen of his time, whose opinion on a range of issues carried weight and influence; he also made substantial and lasting contributions to three fields of knowledge –history, philosophy, and theology. Yet he is not much remembered in today’s Church, although the concerns he addressed and the solutions he proposed still have relevance to the challenges of articulating an intellectually convincing and spiritually satisfying Christian faith in the modern world.

This book, written to mark the centenary of Rashdall’s death, provides a brief and clear introduction to his thought, set in the historical context of his life and time. The opening chapters provide a biographical framework, drawing extensively on archival research. They are followed by separate accounts of his historical, philosophical, and theological work, concentrating on his many publications.

Theory and practice come together in an exploration of Rashdall’s engagement with public life, and the book concludes with an assessment of what he might have to offer to today’s Church.

This practical leadership guide offers seven timeless principles for building a supportive and inclusive community with a strong sense of purpose.

Many people think of “community” as something that happens by accident or emerges naturally over time. But in The Art of Community, Charles Vogl shows that there are specific principles that leaders can use to create or strengthen communities. Drawing on three thousand years of tradition, Vogl lays out the seven enduring principles that every community of every kind—whether formal or informal—must master to be effective.

Vogl describes the purpose of each principle and offers extensive hands-on tools for implementing them. He also shares ways to help communities remain healthy and life-affirming by avoiding toxic rigidity and exclusivity.

Freddie's outlook or comments about life now come from a different perspective as he has passed over. He views his life from this new existence.
This book is a record of his new perspective, he is charming, witty and spiritual. Once passed, Freddie experiences what is known as a viewing. Simply said it is the newly attained ability of the one who has passed to view their own life without judgment and with clarity of understanding.
This book is not a biography as we will not tell you where Freddie ate or had his hair cut. It is not the purpose for this book as the facts are easily available on the internet. The sole purpose of this work is to relay the information Freddie passed to us through questions and answers. This is a true account of his perspective on life from his new position in the spiritual world. How he viewed himself in his physical life may not at times resemble his viewpoint now. We thank you in advance and you can be assured these are the words of Freddie.
We met Freddie Mercury early one morning in late February 2013. Sussan and I had talked about the possibility of making contact with him on the previous day, and she felt he was agreeable to come through. Channeling is about the host matching her vibration to the energy of the non-physical entity, in this case Freddie. Once this occurs the host relaxes and allows the non-physical entity to come through her, and use her library of words and emotions to express themselves.
I immediately found strength in Freddie's direct and unashamed answers, he spoke without hesitation, he was in charge and knew exactly what his life was all about. I can only describe him as a straight shooter as he talked freely about all the subjects we asked. He spoke about his early days at school in India, family, sister and the beginnings of the band Queen.
It was especially important to Freddie that we included discussions about all the members of the band, and that we did not leave anyone out, as he reiterated, we were all part of the success of Queen. We discussed Mary Austin, the love of his life and had a number of discussions on Brian May. Freddie described Brian as someone who would blow us all away with his knowledge and understanding of the world, the universe and everything in between. It was Brian who gave Freddie great solace about the passage of his passing into the afterlife.
We laughed and we cried as Freddie told us of his sexuality and views on life, we had an education into the world of the superstar, nothing was left out. At one stage with tears in our eyes he gave an invitation to Brian to join us all at a dinner party in Freddie's honor, and in his usual flamboyant style told us to set his place at the table, and then said,
Have a drink to life for me.
If you are a fan of Freddie Mercury or just curious you will find many answers about his life that have not been found or discussed in his biographies. You will laugh and cry, you might even sing a verse or two as Freddie talks to us from beyond the grave, as we remember a man who reached the pinnacle of musical success. But this is not all about Freddie, it is also about the ones he left behind, the band, the soul mate and the lovers. So join us on an expedition into the world of Freddie Mercury and like us, you will feel something incredibly special for the experience.

The show business life of Robin Williams is possibly one of the most documented and well known in the industry.

The discovery of his illness and the tragedy of his suicide left the world reeling and wanting to know more.

Interviews between his wife Susan and the press provided more questions than answers. The book does not attempt to reword what is available and easily accessed on the internet about his life. What we attempt to answer are the questions in the later part of his life surrounding his death, the disease and the relationship with his wife.

Robin speaks freely about his marriage to Susan and his feeling about suicide and dementia. The book is a channeling, a connection to the ethereal world and the energy that is Robin Williams.
