This is small copy of the introduction of the book: Welcome to the captivating journey through the life and mind of one of history's most intriguing figures—William of Ockham. In the pages that follow, we will delve into the remarkable story of a man whose ideas have left an indelible mark on philosophy, theology, and the way we understand the world.
Born in a time of shifting paradigms and profound intellectual exploration, William of Ockham emerged as a beacon of intellectual courage and curiosity. His life's journey takes us through the corridors of medieval thought, where he challenged conventions, questioned established norms, and dared to carve his own path through the complexities of the age.
As we embark on this exploration, we'll uncover the threads that wove the fabric of Ockham's life—the circumstances of his birth, the crucible of his upbringing, and the profound influences that shaped his worldview. We'll journey with him through the hallowed halls of academia, where he honed his formidable intellect and developed ground-breaking ideas that continue to resonate to this day.
Ockham's journey was not only one of academic pursuits but also a spiritual voyage. His entry into the Franciscan Order added a layer of complexity to his character, intertwining his devotion to religious life with his insatiable thirst for intellectual inquiry. These dual pursuits propelled him into the heart of philosophical and theological discourse, where he contributed to defining debates and daringly challenging established norms.

    Henry James

Henry James was born 15th April 1843 in New York City.

His youth was spent travelling with his family receiving what was an "extraordinarily haphazard and promiscuous" education as they journeyed through London, Paris, Geneva, Boulogne-sur-Mer and Newport, Rhode Island, according to the father's current interests and publishing ventures. James studied primarily with tutors and only briefly attended schools.

Undoubtedly the quality of his writing has ensured his name is enshrined in the American literary tradition.

James was a committed Anglophile and spent most of his adult life as an expatriate in Europe. Many of his novels juxtapose the Old World with the New World. Classics such as ‘The Portrait of a Lady’, ‘Daisy Miller’ and ‘The Ambassadors’, display the entanglement between American and European cultures and mentalities. They highlight the differences between the two worlds through following the experiences of American expatriates in Europe.

A prolific author he was able to easily move across genres to create vivid and totally real worlds and situations and to offer sophisticated observations of human relations as well as realistic, social criticism.
As a critic James was unafraid to venture into reviews and essays of those other literary giants around him. These together with his short stories and, of course, classic novels, make Henry James an author to be not only admired but read, and read often.

In 1915 Henry James became a British citizen.

On 28th February 1916, at the age of 72, Henry James died in Chelsea, London.

He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911, 1912 and 1916. He never won.

In this story James examines the effect that the death of a dearly loved person has on a man’s life. How he copes, how he grieves and how he attempts to move forward.

“An affectionate portrait, one that recognizes Watts as musician, colleague, family man, obsessive collector and immaculate dresser.”—Sunday Times
“Sexton, a longtime Stones chronicler, tells Watts’s story with warmth and diligence.”—Observer
The fully authorized and official biography of legendary Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, one of the world’s most revered and celebrated musicians of the last half century.
Forewords by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Charlie Watts was one of the most decorated musicians in the world, having joined the Rolling Stones, a few months after their formation, early in 1963.
A student of jazz drumming, he was headhunted by the band after bumping into them regularly in London’s rhythm and blues clubs. Once installed at the drum seat, he didn’t miss a gig, album or tour in his 60 years in the band. He was there throughout the swinging sixties, the early shot at superstardom and the Stones' world conquest; and throughout the debauchery of the 1970s, typified by 1972's Exile on Main St., considered one of the great albums of the century. By the 1980s, Charlie was battling his own demons, but emerged unscathed to enhance his unparalleled reputation even further over the ensuing decades.
Watts went through band bust-ups, bereavements and changes in personnel, managers, guitarists and rhythm sections, but remained the rock at the heart of the Rolling Stones for nearly 60 years—the thoughtful, intellectual but no less compelling counterpoint to the raucousness of his bandmates Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood. And this is his story.

Caught between the Mob and the feds in a plot to save the casinos in Havana from Castro's revolution, Wolfe Rabin pulls the biggest money-laundering scheme in history, but his hubris leads to the conspiracy unraveling in a sensational trial. At a time when there was a jukebox in every restaurant, diner, bar, barracks, arcade, and canteen, Rabin's trajectory from inventor to promoter to outlaw is set against the Mob's growing infiltration of the jukebox industry. In a world of music, machines, and money, popular culture and organized crime collide in an epic drama of invention and greed.
