Sinopsis

When a guy’s boyfriend turns out to be a fraud, he discovers new possibilities with an old friend in this sexy contemporary romance.

When Mark came home to find his boyfriend Jamie banging the landlord—in their bed—it was officially a bad day. Discovering that Jamie had also cleaned out Mark’s bank accounts made it the worst day of his life. It’s only logical that Mark wanted revenge, even if a few laws (and Jamie’s nose) got bent in the process.

Lucky for Mark, the law is on his side when his old friend, state trooper Tony Gervase shows up. Mark has tried to deny his attraction to the sexy lawman for years. But after a hot encounter in the kitchen, the day ends a lot better than it started.

But the morning after, the Jamie situation goes from bad to seriously messed up. The jerk’s in more trouble than anyone could have imagined. And as it turns out, Mark doesn’t know Tony as well as he thought he did either . . .

A single summer changes the trajectory of each member of this close-knit family, changing their lives — and the family — forever.

“Sharp, wildly hilarious, touching, and profound … Maybe art can’t be perfect, but Arjun Basu comes as close as it gets.” — Chris Harding, author of Pickard County Atlas

The Reeds are a very loving, slightly dysfunctional family — but a summer of individual changes is about to shake their tight family unit. Bobby, the father, loses his job while his wife Mimi’s lucrative business leaps ahead. Their adopted son, Abbie, leverages his internet stardom into the makings of a career, while their adopted daughter, Dee, discovers who she really is. They’ll have to navigate the shifting landscapes of money and fame in the age of the internet, office politics, gender dynamics, and sexuality in a world that has just seen political upheaval.

Set in Montreal’s west end, The Reeds is an ultimately optimistic story about the middle class, hope and love, and nostalgia, while exploring the dehumanization of work and the power of art against a backdrop of shag carpeting, the relentlessness of change, gentrification, and Japanese fried chicken.

"A little jealousy never killed anyone." Yet...
Daniel Zenk is a typical college guy. Good-looking. Driven to succeed. A little too cocky. He differs from most of the other frat boy types on campus in one important way – Dan has the hots for his male English professor!
Professor Jason Montell's sexuality smolders just beneath the surface of his hipster glasses and conservative blazer. The university instructor wants to instill a love of literature in his students while finding love in his personal life. The two worlds collide at the beginning of the fall semester and set a dangerous chain of events in motion.
While implementing his plan to seduce the sexy older man, Dan crosses the line between interest and obsession. How far will the young man go to get Jason to give in to temptation? Will heartbreak lead to murder?
Like the characters in Medea they are studying in class, the professor and his student are about to discover that "Stronger than lover's love is lover's hate. Incurable, in each, the wounds they make."

'Kate Marsden: nurse, intrepid adventurer, saviour of the lepers or devious manipulator, immoral and dishonest?'

As she lies on her deathbed visited by the ghosts of her past, who should we believe, Kate or those who accuse her of duplicity? Memory is a fickle thing: recollections may be frozen in time or distorted by the mirror of wishful thinking. Kate's own story is one of incredible achievements, illicit love affairs and desperate longing; those of her accusers paint a very different portrait – of a woman determined on fame and fortune.

The reader navigates a narrative as fractured as the Siberian ice Kate crosses in search of a cure for leprosy, and as beautiful as Rose, her lost love, as the full picture emerges of a life lived when women were not expected to break the mould.

I don’t like labels and I’m happy that way, but it’s taken a long time to get here. A jerk of a father, too many bullies to name, and a string of dipshit boyfriends whose interest in me rarely made it past the skirts I sometimes wear. Suffice to say, my faith in men runs a little thin.
The last thing I need is a gruff, opinionated, fiery, closeted, Paralympian jock messing with my hard-won peace. Miller Harrison is a wrinkle in my life I could definitely do without. I have a job that I love at Auckland Med., a boss who understands me, and a group of friends who accept me as I am.
    I should walk away.
But Miller knows a thing or two about living life against the grain, and that hope I thought I’d buried a long time ago, is threatening to surface.

In 1932, New York City, top reporter Lorena "Hick" Hickok starts each day with a front page byline—and finishes it swigging bourbon and planning her next big scoop.

But an assignment to cover FDR's campaign—and write a feature on his wife, Eleanor—turns Hick's hard-won independent life on its ear. Soon her work, and the secret entanglement with the new first lady, will take her from New York and Washington to Scotts Run, West Virginia, where impoverished coal miners' families wait in fear that the New Deal's promised hope will pass them by. Together, Eleanor and Hick imagine how the new town of Arthurdale could change the fate of hundreds of lives. But doing what is right does not come cheap, and Hick will pay in ways she never could have imagined.

Undiscovered Country artfully mixes fact and fiction to portray the intense relationship between this unlikely pair. Inspired by the historical record, including the more than three thousand letters Hick and Eleanor exchanged over a span of thirty years, McNees tells this story through Hick's tough, tender, and unforgettable voice. A remarkable portrait of Depression-era America, this novel tells the poignant story of how a love that was forced to remain hidden nevertheless changed history.
