Summary

Google Business Profile is a powerful tool that can transform how you drive customers to your local brick-and-mortar business and further develop trust with new and existing customers.
Although Google Business Profile has been around for a long time, it has grown in its importance as more users use search engines to find information about a local business, even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fact that the word “searching” is now interchangeable with the word “Googling.”
Google is the leading search engine, with around 5.4 billion daily searches and a 92% market share. That means it's extremely likely that the target market is on Google, possibly looking for the company's products and services. In fact, nearly half of all Google searches (46%) include local intent, with phrases such as "near me" or a city or neighborhood after the search term.
The statistics surrounding Google Business Profiles are impressive. Over 90% of people read Google Business Profile reviews before contacting a local business, and over half of profiles receive over 1,000 views per month. Nearly half of businesses receive appointment requests through their Google Business Profile, and the profile can be attributed to 91% of weekday calls to local businesses.
With 87% of users performing daily Google searches for local businesses, it's clear that having a Google Business Profile is crucial.
Reviews are important too, as 65% of users will leave a review if they have a positive experience.
"Near Me" Google Maps searches have increased 900% in the past 24 months, and Google Business Profile views and metrics contribute to 75% of a local business's monthly exposure online.

This is a remarkable book. Page Fox seemed to have been an extraordinarily talented, knowledgeable, courageous, intelligent, observant, insightful, inventive confident and independent woman who was obviously very well and broadly educated and yet experienced in grinding out a living for herself. She seemed to be able to combine the killer instincts of an entrepreneur with the inventive talents of a Thomas Edison, and deliver the results in this entertaining, humorous and eloquently written book. Its packed with over 300 of her own inventions and numerous shrewd observations and sagacious marketing and investment advice over an astonishingly broad range of topics.

She appears driven to seek success by the path of long, hard and tedious effort in whatever works best and always with a financial objective in mind. She shows how to create opportunities based on her observations of the latest trends and then how to ruthlessly execute them, and how to always be on the lookout to perceive and seize an advantage.

it is surprizing just how many of her ideas have been prophetic and how many have still to be exploited. She forecast many tools and gadgets that are in common use today and even thought of the pedometer. Were she alive today she would be inventing apps for cells by the dozen.

You will also be surprized to find detailed recipes for manufacturing the “quack” cures spruiked openly in her time and to hear her recommendations to grow opium crops, mine for asbestos, kill whales for their oil, beavers for their fur, and elephants for their ivory. How times change.

“Combines a biography of Kleberg . . . with the story of the postwar boom years that changed the King Ranch . . . into an international corporate agribusiness.” —Houston Chronicle Ranching on the vast scale that Texas is famous for actually happened at King Ranch, a sea of grass that ultimately spread its pastures to countries around the globe under the fifty-year leadership of Bob Kleberg. This absorbing biography, written by Kleberg's top assistant of many years, captures both the life of the man and the spirit of the kingdom he ruled, offering a rare, insider's view of life on a fabled Texas ranch. John Cypher spent forty years (1948–1988) on King Ranch. In these pages, he melds highlights of Kleberg’s life with memories of his own experiences as the “right hand” who implemented many of Kleberg's grand designs. In a lively story laced with fascinating anecdotes, Cypher both recounts his worldwide travels with Kleberg as the ranch expanded its holdings around the world, and describes timeless, traditional tasks such as roundup at the home ranch in Kingsville. Chronicling Kleberg’s accomplishments as well as his legendary lifestyle, which included friendships not merely with the rich and famous but also with Queen Elizabeth, who shared his love of horse racing, this book is essential reading for anyone interested in ranching and one of its most famous practitioners.   “Cypher[‘s] easy conversational style makes life on a working ranch, the care and feeding of visiting celebrities and the field of international agribusiness both understandable and entertaining.” —San Antonio Express-News   “Probably the best of what will ever be known of the inner Bob Kleberg.” —East Texas Historical Journal
