Summary

#worldsworstmum – you know you are doing it all wrong, but you do it anyway!
I wrote this series of stories to highlight something we women do too often. We judge, convict and have thrown the key away on ourselves daily!  In the age of Social Media, we are expected to be either perfect or complete trash!  Personally I’m neither, although killing my children (or thoughts of) occur daily!
I’m boring hence I attracted the name ‘Nanna’. I don’t drink excessively, gave up smoking many moons ago and I’m on my 2nd marriage – the first one I consider to be my marriage-learning study group, – now I’m onto the real thing – I hope to pass – but that’s another book!
I’m a workaholic, in that I don’t actually do ‘nothing’.  That Zen state isn’t for me – meditation is beyond my brains capability and well, I enjoy doing things – irrespective of how mind numbingly boring some might see them.  Drinking with the girls until I’m Pie-Faced is for others and as far as being the modern cupcake maker extraordinaire – let’s just say when your kids ask you not to bake their birthday cakes – you know you pretty much suck in that department.
Really, I am an average mum learning the ropes as I go, who happens to want to kill her offspring more than occasionally!  All I can throw on the table in my defence, is that raising my boys has been very much a solitary experience and that thankfully my Nanna has passed on and won’t be feeling mortified at these stories!
Where to start? Here are just a few moments in my own parenting life that give rise to these thoughts… Enjoy a giggle or two.  Grab a coffee and share this with friends – you might not feel so bad after a few chapters as a mum!

You are about to get a combo deal of 15 books! These are the topics of the books:
Topic 1: There is no doubt about the fact that introverts are different than extroverts. Although every person has their own unique personality traits, some generalizations can help us gain greater insights in the workings of our brains, and with that understanding, we can function better, feel better, and live better.
Topic 2: Can meditation help you live longer?

Can meditation help you relax more?

The answer to both of these questions is a resounding “YES!” And in this guide, we’ll help you become more familiar with meditation practices in general, as well as two specific forms of meditation, which are music meditation and guided sleep meditation.
Topic 3: This book covers a variety of topics, all interrelated and all somehow connected to our ability to concentrate on the most important tasks we have. Many people suffer from being distracted, from going from one thing to another, and never getting much done. Today, we tackle those problems with some inspiring insights.

Topic 4: In this book, you will be shown those methods, those ways in which you can reset your brain and stay away from negativity, depression, anxiety, stress at your job, or dealing with your busy schedule in more effective ways. Some background information will be provided, as well as thoughts and tips to consider.
Topic 5: This book has the intention to open your eyes to the world of possibilities if you can feel the positive energy flow through your body and spirit. It gives you the necessary tools to uncover the truth about what people have discovered about chakras. It helps you connect to the elements of nature.

The Tender Land - A Family Love...

An extraordinary memoir of a family haunted by tragedy: “I’ve read very few contemporary novels that can rival Finneran’s nonfiction.” —Jonathan Franzen A superb portrait of family life, this “absorbing and thoughtful” memoir is a love story unlike any other (Library Journal). The Finnerans—Irish Catholic parents with five children in St. Louis—are a seemingly unexceptional family whose lives are upended by a catastrophic event: the suicide of the author’s fifteen-year-old younger brother after being publicly humiliated in junior high school.   A gentle, handsome boy, Sean Finneran was a straight-A student and gifted athlete, especially treasured by every member of his family. Masterfully, the book interweaves past and present, showing how inseparable the Finnerans are, and how the long accumulation of love and memory helps them survive their terrible loss.   “Unforgettable in its restraint and quiet beauty,” The Tender Land is a testament to the always-complicated ways in which we love one another (Publishers Weekly). In quietly luminous language, Kathleen Finneran renders the emotional, spiritual, and physical terrain of family life—its closeness and disconnection, its intimacy and estrangement—and pays tribute to the love between parents and children, brothers and sisters. In doing so, she “reminds us of how complicated, unique, and fragile an organism the family is” (The Boston Globe).   “[Great writers] change us. Kathleen Finneran fits in this niche. . . . Her prose sings.” —USA Today   “Beautifully written . . . Like life itself, this memoir evokes both sadness and joy.” —St. Louis Post-Dispatch

    The Polymath - Unlocking the...

Every human is born with multifarious potential. Why, then, do parents, schools and employers insist that we restrict our many talents and interests; that we "specialize" in just one?

We've been sold a myth, that to "specialize" is the only way to pursue truth, identity, or even a livelihood. Yet specialization is nothing but an outdated system that fosters ignorance, exploitation, and disillusionment and thwarts creativity, opportunity, and progress.

Following a series of exchanges with the world's greatest historians, futurists, philosophers, and scientists, Waqas Ahmed has weaved together a narrative of history and a vision for the future that seeks to disrupt this prevailing system of unwarranted "hyper-specialization."

In The Polymath, Waqas shows us that there is another way of thinking and being. Through an approach that is both philosophical and practical, he sets out a cognitive journey towards reclaiming your innate polymathic state. Going further, he proposes nothing less than a cultural revolution in our education and professional structures, whereby everyone is encouraged to express themselves in multiple ways and fulfill their many-sided potential.

Have you ever done non-dual inquiry and said to yourself, "I understand it intellectually, but I don't feel it. It's not my experience!" If so, The Direct Path, inspired by Sri Atmananda (Krishna Menon), could be for you.

This book is the "missing manual" to the Direct Path. Direct-Path inquiry is presented from beginning to end and beyond, in a user-friendly way. The core of this book is a set of forty experiments designed to help dissolve the most common non-dual sticking points, from simple to subtle. The experiments cover the world, the body, the mind, abstract objects, and witnessing awareness. You are taken step-by-step from the simple perception of a physical object all the way to the collapse of the witness into pure consciousness. Your takeaway is that there's no experiential doubt that you and all things are awareness, openness, and love.

Also included are a section on teaching and the notion of a "post-nondual realization."

This book can be utilized on its own or as a companion to the author's Standing as Awareness.
