The artistic creations made between about the 1860s and the 1970s are considered modern art. According to history, a Frenchman named Edouard Manet witnessed modern art in the 18th century. However, it was thought that the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood had begun modern painting before the Frenchman, given the works they produced throughout the 18th and 19th centuries lacked the typical academic art forms. Following the Pre-Raphaelites, various changes and movements occurred in the field of art.
