Sinopsis

Ingersoll Lockwood's "Travels and Adventures of Little Baron Trump and His Wonderful Dog Bulger" is a fantastical picaresque novel that follows the whimsical escapades of a precocious young aristocrat, Baron Trump, and his loyal canine companion, Bulger. Set against a richly imaginative landscape, the narrative is woven with elements of satire, adventure, and socio-political commentary, embodying the spirit of late 19th-century American literature. Lockwood crafts a narrative infused with a playful, almost mock-heroic tone, reflecting contemporary Victorian ideals while intertwining fantastical elements that challenge the boundaries of reality and civilizational norms. Ingersoll Lockwood was not only an author but also a lawyer and a political figure who traversed the intellectual currents of his time. His experiences in a post-Civil War America and his proclivity for social commentary informed his writing style, blending humor with an insightful critique of society. The creation of Baron Trump mirrors the zeitgeist of youthful optimism and exploration that characterized the American social imagination during the Gilded Age, making his work resonate with both children and adults alike. This enchanting tale is highly recommended for readers of all ages who are eager to embark on a journey through the realms of imagination and adventure. Lockwood'Äôs whimsical storytelling, combined with the charming camaraderie between Baron Trump and Bulger, invites readers to ponder deeper philosophical questions while delighting in the boundless possibilities of childhood wonder.

Xuanzang and the monkey arrived at Guanyin Monastery. Elder Jinchi, the abbot of the monastery, showed his treasures to them. Ignoring Xuanzang's advice, the monkey reciprocated by showing off Xuanzang's embroidered robe, which made the abbot so jealous that he sought to burn Xuanzang to death and take the robe. After learning of Jinchi's conspiracy, the monkey secretly protected Xuanzang and diverted the fire to other rooms. Black-Wind Monster was disturbed by the fire and took advantage of the chance to steal the robe. When the monkey discovered that the robe was lost the next day, he rushed to Black-Wind Mountain to get it back. The monkey transformed himself to look like Jinchi but the monster saw through the illusion, leading the two into a big fight. Finding the monster difficult to defeat, the monkey turned to Guanyin for help. After instructing the monkey to turn himself into an elixir, Guanyin coaxed the monster to eat it. The monkey entered the monster's stomach and tortured him until he handed over the robe. Guanyin subdued the monster and made him the guard deity of her mountain.

    L. Frank Baum was an American author best known for his children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. He wrote 14 novels in the Oz series, plus 41 other novels (not including four lost, unpublished novels), 83 short stories, over 200 poems, and at least 42 scripts. He made numerous attempts to bring his works to the stage and screen; the 1939 adaptation of the first Oz book became a landmark of 20th-century cinema. The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is a 1902 children's book. Santa Claus, as a baby, is found in the Forest of Burzee by Ak, the Master Woodsman of the World (a supreme immortal), and placed in the care of the lioness Shiegra; but thereupon adopted by the Wood Nymph, Necile.Upon reaching young adulthood, Claus is introduced by Ak to human society, wherein he sees war, brutality, poverty, child neglect, and child abuse. Because he cannot reside in Burzee as an adult, he settles in the nearby Laughing Valley of Hohaho, where the immortals regularly assist him, and Peter Knook gives him a little cat named Blinky. When Claus is in his 60s, the Immortals realize he is near the end of his life, and a council, headed by Ak (Master Woodsman of the World), Bo (Master Mariner of the World), and Kern (Master Husbandman of the World) gathers together the Gnome King, the Queen of the Water Spirits, the King of the Wind Demons, the King of the Ryls, the King of the Knooks, the King of the Sound Imps, the King of the Sleep Fays, the Fairy Queen, Queen Zurline of the Wood Nymphs, and the King of the Light Elves with the Princes Flash and Twilight, to decide the fate of Santa Claus. After much debate, he is granted immortality just as the Spirit of Death comes for him.Produced by Macc KayICON Intern Eden Garret GiulianoCover Image Courtesy Netflix©2021 Eden Garret Giuliano (P) 2021 Eden Garret Giuliano
