Synopsis
Enjoy this short story by Hellen Heels. "Are you referring to someone else, someone different from your colleague?" "I know very well whom I am referring to. Aren't you Jasmine? My very able and trustworthy teaching colleague?" "Well, you do know who I am. So, I better stop questioning you unnecessarily." "Better. So why have you been screaming after me as if I owe you something from another lifetime?" "I didn't see you in class when I came back from the library." "Didn't you get the message from the Head Teacher?" "No. What was it about?" "She wanted to see one of us in her office as quickly as possible." "Really? Why?" Carol sighed. "If I knew I am sure that I would not be hurrying there to find out myself. Or would I?" "No. Not at all. Can I come with you?" "Would it make any difference if you did?" As they both walked, a couple of pupils greeted them. They soon arrived at a door at the end of the corridor marked 'Head Teacher.' Carol knocked on it. "Come in. The door is open," came a voice from inside. They both walked into a medium-sized office that had several chairs, some cabinets, and a wide desk.
