Synopsis

They expected a proxy bride—and got more than they bargained for. 
Loretta is a daddy’s girl who loves hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Unfortunately, she’s also spoiled and easily frustrated. When tragedy strikes, everything she’s depended on is instantly gone, and her only hope of survival is on the frontier in Montana. Loretta doesn’t hide her anger at the calamity that destroyed her life, pinning the blame on her last living family member.  
But when disaster strikes a second time, Loretta finds a new destiny thrust upon her. Her past is not her own, nor is the story she’s living. 
Settling with family friends in the wilds of Montana above the Yellowstone River in Assiniboine Indian territory, the realities of life in 1868 come alive as Loretta comes of age. She tries to leave her life in the hands of fate, but God directs her steps. 
She wasn’t what he expected, but she was exactly what he needed.
