"That tree has a history. In the old days people called it the See-Saw Tree. One of its branches grew straight out, near to the ground. Children used to balance a plank over the branch and use it as a see-saw. The villagers loved that oak. And the See-Saw Tree was itself like a village. A living community of animals, birds and insects, going about their daily business. It still is. Just imagine how that community will feel should it be threatened. Just imagine what might happen if any of the Council's plans went ahead and they cut down that oak tree, that special oak tree. Just imagine, just imagine …"
So says young eco-activist Elizabeth Green in her passionate speech against the felling of an ancient oak tree to make way for a new supermarket and children's play area.
She imagines the situation from the point of view of the creatures who live on and around the tree, who, thanks to the corporate greed of human beings, are now in danger of losing their much-loved home. The daily lives of tree residents, Owl, Squirrel, Mistlethrush, Dunnock and Bat, along with visitors Jay and Cuckoo, and Rabbit, whose burrow is nearby, are thrown into turmoil by the arrival of the Big Ones, the chainsaw-wielding human agents of destruction.
Can the creatures beat the impossible odds and save their home – the See-Saw Tree?

What framework can guide Christian engagement with major economic, social and political issues in public life in 21st century Europe?
What other schools of thought exist apart from Catholic Social Teaching and Christian Democracy?

Sallux has collaborated with the Jubilee Centre in Cambridge over several years to apply a new framework, agenda and strategy for Christian social reform, called Relational Thinking. It starts with the Christian belief that human beings are created by a relational God to form relational societies – the contemporary application of the ancient adage to 'love our neighbour as ourselves'.

This book is a compilation of fi ve reports, two of which discuss the overall concept of Relational Thinking, while the others demonstrate how it can be applied to three contemporary issues: the need for monetary reform, the challenges of artifi cial intelligence and the ethics of remuneration. You can fi nd other examples of issues being analysed from a relational perspective, from business to city transformation.

Deeply biblical, Relational Thinking builds bridges through the language of relationships to connect Christians with people of other faiths or none, and o er a fresh approach to Europe's greatest public policy challenges today.

Jake and Hooley is a fresh modern sequel to the popular 2018 animated film Jake and the Giants and the subsequent audio book that was released. Hooley is an orphaned giant who finds himself hungry, lost and alone near the Village Shi. His immense strength and ability as a lumberjack makes him popular with the Beavers and also with Jake who treats him like a long lost brother making sure he has food to eat and a wonderful place to sleep.
There is plenty of building and lumbering for him to do and with his immense strength he does it quickly. However, things turn sour when he realizes that many in the Village Shi are frightened of him and want him to move away. He overhears and sneaks off without a word.
The story has surprising twists and turns and continues the Jake and the Giants legacy quite well. The arrival of Conrad the giant and Nora a young giantess who is in love with Hooley create havoc in the Shi Village as they search about for their stolen treasure. The battle scenes and terror are unique and clever and ultimately satisfying.
This is a wonderful audio adventure and captures the true spirit of the human heart. "Don't judge someone by their size but by the size of their heart."

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Gordon Korman comes the funny and heartwarming sequel to the word-of-mouth hits UNGIFTED and SUPERGIFTED.
School has never been a problem for twelve-year-old super-genius Noah Youkilis—at least not until he gets an admission letter to the prestigious Wilderton University. The last thing Noah wants is to go straight from eighth grade into college. Will his life ever just be normal?!
Meanwhile, Noah’s best friend, Donovan, has been looking forward all year to a summer of doing nothing. But when Wilderton allows Noah to bring a friend for the summer term, Donovan’s parents jump at the chance. Suddenly, Donovan’s summer of slack has turned into hanging with Noah and working as a summer camp counselor for professors’ kids.
Once they arrive on campus, Noah’s determined to fit in—and to him, that means joining the top-secret Society of the Gavel. But becoming a Gaveler is harder than it seems, and it’s made all the harder when Noah and Donovon smuggle Wilderton’s mascot, a two-hundred-pound pig named Porquette, into their dorm. Now Noah and Donovan must combine all their middle-school smarts to keep their pig-sized secret, fix a haywire AI program before it pretty much ends the world, and keep track of Donovan’s campers.
It’s going to be a summer to remember in the newest book from #1 New York Times bestselling author Gordon Korman.
