Summary

‘Hello, everyone! Had good holidays?’
‘Splendid, thank you. And you?’
‘Rather! My family greeted me with open arms, and I was quite the pet of the house. Pity it lasts such a short while!’ And Miss Edwards, youngest member of the Chalet School Staff, sank into her chair at the far end of the big Staff table, and beamed round on everyone. ‘Why this solemn conclave?’ she continued. ‘Is anything wrong?’
Miss Wilson, science and geography mistress, shook her head. ‘No; at least not so far as I am aware. But I came up only this morning, and haven’t had much chance to discuss anything with anyone yet.’
‘Well, we shall all know soon,’ said her great chum, Miss Stewart, who, as she was wont to say plaintively, spent her life trying to drive some history home to the brains of the Chalet School girls. ‘Here comes Hilda at last! Come in, my child. What an age you have been!’

How far would you go to follow your dream?
The year is 2068. Scientists at Space Command must learn how children manage in space without adults. They advertise for a leader for the first-ever child-only mission.
During the day, Sophie Williams struggles to fit in at her new secondary school, and bizarre recurring dreams torment her at night. She misses her dad and would do anything to make him proud. The Space Command advert sends shivers down her spine. Maybe this is her chance.
The selection process pushes Sophie to her limits but eventually, she finds herself strapped into the enormous spaceship and leading her team on a journey of discovery.
Being in space with three other kids, a robot and a dog is fun at first, but Sophie has no idea what her team will discover, or what dangers they will face.

A cinematic tale of passion, war, loyalty, betrayal, and retribution “These events I relate are the living seeds, and they will bear bloody fruit, I promise.” So says Ulysses, King of Ithaca, as he recounts the origins of the Trojan War. Renowned Greek mythologist Bernard Evslin masterfully depicts the ten-year war: its beginnings rooted in discord among the gods; the seduction of the famed beauty Helen of Troy; and the spectacular development of the Trojan Horse, Ulysses’ cunning ploy to win the war. Evslin brings to life the dramatic twists and turns of this classic tale of human folly, mortal heroism, and the brutality and brilliance that have come down through the ages.
