During fifty one days in early 1993 one of the most tragic events in American crime history unfolded on the plains outside Waco, Texas. An obscure and heavily armed religious sect called the Branch Davidians was barricaded inside their commune and outside were hundreds of law enforcement angry because the former had killed four ATF agents in a botched raid. Open the pages of this book and go on an engaging and captivating ride to examine one of the most important true crime stories in recent decades. Read the shocking true story of how a man the government considered a psychopath, but whose followers believed to be a prophet, led a breakaway sect of the Seventh Day Adventist Church into infamy. You will follow the meteoric rise of the Branch Davidians’ charismatic leader, David Koresh, as he went from an awkward kid in remedial classes to one of the most infamous cult leaders in world history. But the story of the Waco Siege begins long before the events of 1993. At the core of the conflict between the Branch Davidians and the United States government were ideas and interpretations of religious freedom and gun ownership, which as will be revealed in the pages of this book, a considerable philosophical gulf existed between the two sides. David Koresh and the Branch Davidians carried on a long tradition in American and Texas history of religious dissent, but in 1993 that dissent turned tragically violent. You will find that beyond the standard media portrayals of the Waco Siege was an event comprised of complex human characters on both sides of the firing line and that perhaps the most tragic aspect of the event was that the extreme bloodshed could have been avoided. The pages of this book will make you angry, sad, and bewildered; but no matter the emotions evoke, you will be truly moved by the events of the Waco Siege.

We live in a wonderfully diverse and increasingly connected world. With that rise in connection comes a steep rise in expectations.
... Expectations that we know how to talk about diversity, including with people who are different than ourselves.
... Expectations that we lean into uncomfortable conversations, with sufficient fluency that we don't cause offence.
... Expectations that we act, instead of simply walking by inequality.
Although most of us are curious about diversity, and some would go as far as to call ourselves allies, very few of us are skilled in inclusion. In the absence of knowing what to do, we double down on being nice and hope that will be enough. Unfortunately, this optimistic attitude may harm as much as help.
Mind the Inclusion Gap is for anyone who wants to move beyond talking to actively shaping an inclusive future. It looks beyond singular diversity categories, exploring the connections between race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity. Filled with insight and everyday skills, it will help you navigate the polarised and divisive issues we face in the workplace and in the world.

Note: This audiobook is included (for free) inside its respective print and e-book versions.
Every person experiences emotions; it’s one of the most natural aspects of everyone’s life. Unfortunately, not everyone is capable of dealing with these intense feelings effectively. And, when you’ve been raised by emotionally immature parents who don’t allow you to be an individual who can express their feelings, you will be set up for failed (and sometimes even abusive) relationships in the future.
As children, our number one role models are our parents; we give them unconditional trust to guide us through the world. But when the trust is broken, and their behavior and temperament toward us are less than ideal, we can develop coping mechanisms in a bid to shield ourselves from the hurt. If your parent starved you emotionally, then you have a pretty clear picture of what this means – but it doesn't have to remain this way.
In her original, clinical psychologist Dr. Lindsay Gibson discusses this phenomenon, the effect that the poor emotional development of parents can have on their children’s lives, and practical steps you can take to break free from this cycle.
This workbook offers an immersive experience that combines summaries, key takeaways, insights, exercises, prompts, thought-provoking questions, and guided reflections to bridge the gap between the book's teachings and your life. You will embark on thorough shadow work guided by the wisdom of Lindsay C. Gibson, but there's only one rule – don't be afraid to dig deep and feel. Facing the resurfacing emotions of your past may be uncomfortable, to say the least, but it is an essential part of the process.

New Spain was established in the aftermath of the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire in 1521, and as the most spectacular conquest and the richest province, New Spain quickly became the focus of Spanish America. The Viceroyalty of New Spain was established in 1535, comprising a vast region of what is now the American Southwest, all of Mexico and Central America, the various Spanish held islands of the Caribbean, the “Spanish Main,” and the Spanish Far East Empire (comprised mainly of the Philippines). The Viceroyalty of New Castile (later named the Viceroyalty of Peru) was established in 1542 and comprised all of Spain’s South American territory, such as it was defined, excluding the Guianas. In 1610, the viceregency of New Granada was established with its capital in Cartagena, comprising the modern states of Columbia, Venezuela, a portion of Equator and Panama. In 1776, after much jostling with the southern frontier of Portuguese Brazil, the viceregency of Rio la Plata was formed, comprising Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, with Buenos Aires a sits capital. The Portuguese, of course, established their territory of Brazil with its capital and Rio de Janeiro.
Not surprisingly, as the Catholic empires expanded across the globe, persecution would travel with them, and the horrors experienced by indigenous populations in these colonies rivaled anything heretics back in Europe faced. The Inquisition in the New World: The History and Legacy of the Inquisition after Spain and Portugal Colonized the Americas looks at how the Inquisitions came to be, the manner in which it was exported west, and how people were tortured and executed.

    This is a 4-book Bundle!
    Book 1: Multiple Personality Disorder
If you know what multiple personality disorder is, you probably wonder how this disorder develops, how it manifests itself, and what can be done. This quick guide will help you get to the bottom of these questions.
    Book 2: Manic Depression
What if you could begin to overcome your depression by getting the right information? Wouldn’t that be something worth investing into? Depression is a serious condition, and a manic depression takes it even a step further. It would be better to comprehend what you or a loved one is going through than to remain in the dark and not know what to do. I am not saying that it will be an easy process, nor will it always be brief. Healing takes time, and perhaps the condition is so severe that medication is necessary, as well.
    Book 3: Suicide
In this elaborate study, the specific issues that relate to suicidal tendencies are addressed. Causes and consequences come to light, and comparisons are made between countries, individuals, and triggers that influence a person in a depressive state to contemplate the unthinkable.
    Book 4: Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder with lots of complications. Although it cannot be completely overcome in the sense that the disorder will disappear, there are ways to cope with and reduce the symptoms. The author has experienced the struggles with schizophrenics himself, and relates the information and clinical research to his own experiences with one of his friends.
