Οι «Μνήμες Σκοτεινά Αναδυόμενες» είναι ένα μυθιστόρημα επιστημονικής φαντασίας με “new age” στοιχεία. Ο Δημήτρης Σολέγγας είναι ένας επιστήμονας, που πραγματοποιεί ένα μυστικό πείραμα στις εγκαταστάσεις της φαρμακευτικής εταιρίας, στην οποία εργάζεται, στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Πρόκειται για το πρόγραμμα της «Τηλεμνήμης», της χειρουργικής μεταφοράς αναμνήσεων από έναν ζωντανό οργανισμό σε άλλον. Ταυτόχρονα μία σατανιστική αίρεση ετοιμάζεται να τελέσει και πάλι την ανίερη ανθρωποθυσία της. Το Πορφυρό Τάγμα εφαρμόζει εδώ και αιώνες τις σκοτεινές πρακτικές του σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη με έδρα τη Ρουμανία, και αποτέλεσε τον πυρήνα για τη δημιουργία του μύθου των βρικολάκων. Το πρωτοπαλίκαρο της αίρεσης ο Σολοβάιδ (η λέξη διάβολος διαβασμένη ανάποδα), με ενεργή δράση επικίνδυνων αποστολών στις βαλκανικές και ρωσικές χώρες, λαμβάνει την εντολή απαγωγής της κόρης του Δημήτρη Σολέγγα για την τέλεση της βέβηλης θυσίας προς τιμή του Εξόριστου Άρχοντά τους στον Πέρα Κόσμο. Ο Σολοβάιδ απαγάγει τη μικρή Μαρία και την αιχμαλωτίζει σε κρυψώνα του Τάγματος. Εξαιτίας των βίαιων ενστίκτων του έρχεται σε σύρραξη με μία συμμορία Αλβανών εμπόρων ναρκωτικών, με αποτέλεσμα να μεταφερθεί βαριά τραυματισμένος στη μονάδα εντατικής θεραπείας.
Ο Σκωτσέζος Ρόμπερτ Ρόυ Μακμίνιστερ, χρόνιος αλκοολικός και καταθλιπτικός, είναι ανώτερος αξιωματικός, αναλυτής εγκλημάτων της Ευροπώλ, που καταδιώκει διεθνώς την ανόσια αίρεση. Ενημερώνει τον Δημήτρη Σολέγγα ότι, μόλις περάσουν οι τρεις εννιαήμεροι κύκλοι, στους οποίους το ανήλικο θύμα θα υποστεί ψυχολογική, σωματική και πνευματική βία, αντίστοιχα σε κάθε κύκλο, θα επέλθουν ο βιασμός και η μετέπειτα θυσία του κοριτσιού στη βάση μίας ανάποδης υπόγειας πυραμίδας.
Την ίδια στιγμή στο Λονδίνο η Μάντυ Χάντσον, παλιά συμφοιτήτρια και φίλη του Δημήτρη Σολέγγα, αναταράζεται από έναν εφιάλτη, στον οποίο ο φίλος της πνίγεται μέσα σε ένα πολτοποιημένο υγρό από ανθρώπινους εγκεφάλους στον πάτο ενός πηγαδιού. Η Μάντυ Χάντσον δύο χρονιά πριν, όταν σκοτώθηκε η ερωμένη της, η Γκέιλ, σε αυτοκινητιστικό ατύχημα, αποπειράθηκε να αυτοκτονήσει. Μετά την επιθανάτια εμπειρία της ταξίδεψε στο Θιβέτ, ασχολήθηκε με τις εσωτερικές πνευματικές αναζητήσεις και επαναπροσδιόρισε τον εαυτό της. Απέκτησε νέο σκοπό στη ζωή: Να ακολουθεί τα σημάδια, τα οποία της στέλνει το Ρεύμα των Πραγμάτων και να βοηθάει όσους έχουν ανάγκη. Διαισθητικά έχει την πλήρη επίγνωση ότι πρέπει να σώσει τον φίλο της.
Ο Δημήτρης Σολέγγας εξαναγκάζεται να εφαρμόσει το πείραμα της «Τηλεμνήμης» και να μεταφέρει τις μνήμες του απαγωγέα της κόρης του στον ίδιο του τον εγκέφαλο. Ενώ αγωνίζεται για τη διατήρηση της ίδιας του της προσωπικότητας, θα βρεθεί στη μέση της συμπλοκής του Πορφυρού Τάγματος με τη συμμορία των Αλβανών εμπόρων ναρκωτικών. Στην περιπέτειά του θα έρθει αντιμέτωπος με βαθιές συμπαντικές αλήθειες, όπως: η συγχρονικότητα, η διασύνδεση όλων των έμβιων πλασμάτων, η αιωνόβια μάχη του καλού και του κακού, η ύπαρξη ενός ανώτερου και ενός κατώτερου εαυτού σε κάθε άνθρωπο αλλά και στον ίδιο τον συμπαντικό οργανισμό, η προφητικότητα των ονείρων, η επίδραση του διαλογισμού και της νοερής απεικόνισης στον ανθρώπινο εγκέφαλο.
Τι θα γίνει στο Δημήτρη Σολέγγα, όταν η εσωτερική του φωνή, με την οποία κάθε άνθρωπος ταυτίζει το Εγώ του αρχίζει να μεταλλάσσεται από τις αναμνήσεις του μνημοδότη του; Μήπως συμβαίνει κάτι ανάλογο σε όλους μας; Ποιοι στα αλήθεια είμαστε;
