Summary

A widow and a charter captain scour the ocean for a stolen yachtWhen Ingram lands in Miami, he doesn’t even have time to finish his bath before the police come knocking. The out-of-work charter captain has just returned from Nassau, where he was looking to buy a boat on behalf of a millionaire. But the day after he toured the seventy-foot Dragoon, his “millionaire” disappeared, and the yacht went with him. Ingram convinces the cops that he was only an unwitting accomplice in stealing the boat, and offers to help recover it for the owner, a beautiful widow with secrets of her own. He only has eight thousand square miles of open ocean to search. Finding the ship is the easy part. Escaping it will be harder, as Ingram finds himself caught in a tangle of lust, smuggling, and murder, surrounded by endless miles of the most beautiful water on earth.

Catrin and Rhys travel to Windsor Castle for their third medieval mystery together...
August 1284. On the heels of King Edward's triumph over Wales, the high point of his reign thus far, he receives the worst news possible: his eldest living son and heir to the throne of England has died. Concerned that his victories in Wales, and even more the means by which he came by them, have brought the wrath of the Almighty down upon his house, King Edward sends Catrin and Rhys to Windsor Castle to investigate.
But although they find victims and villains aplenty, their far greater test—of friendship, loyalty, and allegiance—is managing the expectations of a grieving king, who fears his son was murdered—and fears even more that he wasn't.
Paladin is the third book in The Welsh Guard Mysteries.

Jack Hinkley, the underachieving MI6 Station Head in Barcelona, is tired of watching the cable-car ply between the harbour and Montjuïc from his office window. But when a hijacked plane is forced to refuel at Barcelona, where it is successfully stormed, among the surviving passengers seen disembarking live on shaky long-focus television lenses are two KGB agents of interest. The natural order of things in the shadow world is suddenly out of kilter.
So begins a run of close surveillance, kidnapping and coercion that ultimately leads to a hunt for a mole in London. Once again, our man, Jack, finds himself marginalised. Instead of sinking in the toxic inertia, he uses the time to help his brother get back on track, and to rebuild his relationship with his estranged wife. Then, in a street of cramped houses in Chelsea, somebody fires a shot at him. In the shadow world, lessons are learnt late – sometimes, too late.
The Makeweight is a remarkable spy thriller from the 1980s, which will resonate with a new generation of readers, by a writer described by the Independent as "part le Carré, part Graham Greene".
