Sinossi

In Rome a man commits suicide by cutting his veins in the bathtub. In San Francisco, a woman throws herself off her balcony. Two dramatic events, apparently distant between them. Betta is trying to pick up the pieces of her life when Mark, from San Francisco shows up with some very disturbing news: the two suicides, her husband and his sister have one common denominator. It seems that behind these desperate gestures hides a sort of instigator: Dioniso. They intercept and lure emotionally fragile subjects through social network, dragging them along a path that leads them to their death. Betta and Mark, with the help of the suicide girl, Andrea, an expert hacker leads them on a personal chase, taking them around Europe where they follow the trail of breadcrumbs left by Dioniso. Meanwhile, a dark and tentacular force is on their tracks, transforming them from hunters to prey. What is hiding behind the tragic death of two people? The answer to that question is as disturbing as it is incredible. Something that the world is not yet ready to accept.PUBLISHER: TEKTIME

In her debut poetry collection, Hannah Lee Jones brings readers on a mythic journey across a vast physical and metaphysical landscape. Four cardinal directions point the way through this inner wilderness, through trials and initiations, suffering and discovery, on a restless quest for deeper connection and wholeness. What emerges is a richly textured map of love and loss, a tapestry of hard-won truths both personal and universal. At turns mysterious, dreamlike, intimate, and illuminating, these poems explore what is wild and timeless in the human soul.

A master of documentary poetry, Erika Meitner takes up the question of desire and intimacy in her latest collection of poems. In her previous five collections of poetry, Erika Meitner has established herself as one of America’s most incisive observers, cherished for her remarkable ability to temper catastrophe with tenderness. In her newest collection Useful Junk, Meitner considers what it means to be a sexual being in a world that sees women as invisible—as mothers, customers, passengers, worshippers, wives. These poems render our changing bodies as real and alive, shaped by the sense memories of long-lost lovers and the still thrilling touch of a spouse after years of parenthood, affirming that we are made of every intimate moment we have ever had. Letter poems to a younger poet interspersed throughout the collection question desire itself and how new technologies—Uber, sexting, Instagram—are reframing self-image and shifting the ratios of risk and reward in erotic encounters. With dauntless vulnerability, Meitner travels a world of strip malls, supermarkets, and subway platforms, remaining porous and open to the world, always returning to the intimacies rooted deep within the self as a shout against the dying earth. Boldly affirming that pleasure is a vital form of knowledge, Useful Junk reminds us that our selves are made real and beautiful by our embodied experiences and that our desire is what keeps us alive.

When Nduka and Jona find themselves working together far from home, their shared heritage becomes a bridge of friendship in an unfamiliar land. But as success and recognition begin to shift, so does the atmosphere, from trust to tension, from brotherhood to suspicion.
Whispers begin. Loyalties shift. And what once felt like family starts to feel like danger.
Set against the backdrop of cultural expectations and spiritual beliefs, The Power of Shadows is a compelling tale of ambition, faith, and the hidden forces that can unravel even the strongest bonds.
Will truth prevail when doubt takes root? Or will the shadows consume them both?
A deeply human story for fans of moral fiction, African narratives, and faith-centered drama.

'The men that walked in darkness / Had found the light before.'

A vibrant collection of poems illustrating the wit, depth and imaginative range from one of the most distinctive voices of the twentieth century: G.K. Chesterton.

Blending humour, paradox and profound spiritual insight, Chesterton's poems celebrate the ordinary, challenge modern cynicism and champion faith with an unrelenting joy. From rollicking ballads like 'The Rolling English Road' to meditative pieces such as 'The Ballad of the White Horse', this selection captures Chesterton's trademark use of playful rhythm, sharp intellect and deep moral conviction. It is a journey through verse that evokes wonder, defends tradition and sings with clarity and courage. This audiobook edition is beautifully read by David Rintoul.
Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874 – 1936) was an English novelist, philosopher, journalist and critic. A Christian apologist, he is famed for creating the fictional priest-detective Father Brown. His writing was also renowned for his sense of humour: known as 'the prince of paradox', Chesterton often turned common sayings upside down. Admired by several of his literary contemporaries, Chesterton's work is still widely read today.
